There are two things I've been thinking about but am not sure how to comment on. Their levels of importance are substantially unequal but I'll include them together anyway. I'll start with the most important one*.
One: Chad Johnson changed his name to Ocho Cinco. Awesome. What does that mean for the Bengal's season? Let's just hope they can pull it together!
Two: The choice of Sarah Palin for the Republican VP. Since it's pretty much impossible to get unbiased reporting in the media and since I'm otherwise somewhat uninformed (apathetic) about politics I'm not sure what I think about the choice. I'm interested in any educated opinions of my readers. I'll refrain from further comment for now.
*I hope you pick up on the sarcasm...But just in case you can't I thought I would point it out for you.

Well on item #1 I do have a distinct opinion: The man is crazy and arrogant. That's not news though.
Number 2, however I'm up in the air about. I'm also undecided and apathetic politically. But throwing Sarah Palin in the mix has at least gotten me a little interested again. No matter what can be said about the merits of any of the candidates (which is a topic I'm not really qualified to comment on) it was nice to see McCain make a gutsy choice, for so long he's been just ho-hum, but now he's back in the game. She's an interesting addition, and not just because she's a woman—if McCain just wanted a woman, he would've picked someone else. Even still, she's helping to highlight the sexism in politics which I think is valuable. What male candidate has ever been in question about whether he can be a good father and be in office; but people are questioning Palin's ability to be in office and be a good mother.
I guess the only thing I'm sure of is that both sides have decided weaknesses. Now I just have to weigh their strengths and separate the hype and the spectacle from the reality of what the next four years might look like.
